This May, eXcel Leadership Network held its Discovery Center at Willamette Christian here in the Portland Area. The Discovery Center is the network’s assessment process to help church leaders discern the calling of church planting. Back in 2020, Rick and Michelle Terletzky went through this process themselves and is how we have ended up working with eXcel in the launch of Kingship Church. Rick was given the opportunity with eXcel to now help in the process for others and was part of the leadership team that led the Discovery Center in May.
" I was given the opportunity to come in as an observer to help the rest of the team in their discernment process. It was a very humbling experience. It was also incredible to see God’s continued work in calling His Church to the expansion of His Kingdom. The leadership at eXcel was imperative to the exploration of what exactly God was placing on our hearts for Kingship, but to walk beside them in serving the Kingdom at large without the spotlight or relevancy of Kingship, painted a deeper understanding and appreciation for God’s active work through His people to reach the lost with the good news of Jesus. My heart rejoices at the sending of others to places I am not called and getting to witness their passion and obedience before they go. And seeing my mentors serving others than myself, revealed more of their calling and heart. It has caused me to appreciate them more." - Rick
Among the leadership present was J.D. Pearring, the director of eXcel, and Brian Burman, Rick’s mentor for Kingship. Brian has been a valuable and respected voice in the preparation and stewardship of Kingship’s fruition. It is evident through their demeanor and relational care, of their love for the Church, for Christ, and those that God brings into their fold. We are thankful for their continued work in the Kingdom and their care towards us, here at Kingship.Church
