This season Kingship Church got the opportunity to help people that are already helping others. Loving our neighbor is more than a concept but a command Jesus gives us. Often it is over looked that our neighbor includes supporting and strengthening the one serving. In fact, Jesus makes a point to highlight that those who show mercy towards others are "neighbors".
Luke 10
36 Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?” 37 He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.”
Neighbors works both ways. Getting to extend support to our neighbors and brothers and sisters in Christ at Good Samaritan Ministries, so they can continue to love and support other neighbors in need, helped us see the bigger picture of how God is using His Kingdom to redeem His people.
Here is a message from Nick Ward sharing the impact that has already taken place:
The Kingship service project has been a wonderful gift to Good Samaritan Ministries and has had a multiplication effect upon the office. Kingship Church planted a seed of generosity which has grown, caused a great boost in energy with staff and volunteers, improved moral and contributed to ongoing motivation to revamp the lobby, warehouse and library. It has also encouraged us to work on organization and cleaning, all directly because of the Kingship service project. It has inspired our counselors and volunteers to bring in new donations of updates including lamps and garbage cans. In a lot of way feels like the story Rock Soup with cascade of generosity.
Throughout the week almost every person who has entered the counseling offices has responded with excitement, surprise and gratitude. We truly have been overwhelmed by Kingship's serve project. The quality and detail which went into the remodel has been a great encouragement to us. Lastly, we appreciate Kingship's tact, intentionality and honor with working with things that are precise to our ministries history. You have truly shown us love, patience and kindness.
With love and gratitude,
Nick Ward
