What an amazing opportunity to engage with the community this year during our Neighborhood Treat. On Halloween night we hosted a carnival experience for our neighbors around Jackson School Elementary. It was quite the stop for over 200 kids on their trick or treat route. We had face painting, crafts, many games for various ages and even a large catapult.
The game lines were packed with kids and parents as we encouraged creating shared experiences for their relationships. We didn’t shy away from telling them that was why we were there. As they shared their gratitude for creating a fun memory, we would encourage them to build more.
Our actions from last year, seemed to have inspired our next door neighbors to create additional experiences and join in on the generosity. That was noticed and commented on the most from those who attended; the act of generosity. This led to many conversations in which we were able to share about Christ and Kingship.
Thank you to all the volunteers that helped put on this experience. Our hope is for our neighbors to see our desire to invest in their families and ponder the generosity. We know conversations will continue among neighbors and hope that this will lead to deeper relationships with those that attend Kingship that live in the area. Many introductions started that night and we are confident God has a plan for where those hand shakes will lead.
Many asked how they could learn more about Kingship Church and we invited them to our next Friday Night at McMenamins. Let’s make sure to continue to invite all to our next dinner and be ready to show them what it means to be a relational church.
