In life, there are certain moments that stick out as monumental peaks. Moments that feel like you're standing on the hilltops. Some of these moments you work hard for or have been anticipated for quite a while. Much like graduating college to the glee of your wedding day or even how a child arrives at Christmas (and some of us adults too).
But then there are moments that catch us off guard. There was no planning or anticipated expectation, as if being transported instantly to the mountain summit. These are experienced differently. You don't feel the sense of arriving but of humbling awe. Like receiving a gift you knew nothing about. It's hard to reflect on the journey because your not sure how you even got there. All that you can do is stare at the view and it consumes you.
Arriving at December 4th 2022 is a little bit of both.
There has certainly been a lot of hard laborious work to get to this point where 230 SE Washington is now a place of worship and where the gospel is sent out. There has been much sacrifice and generosity by a group of people who have been trusting in the Spirit to make way for God's plan for His Church. There is a great sense of a journey, a trail that has been blazed, and there are only but a few more steps to the top.
But the expectations of that kind of special moment do not match what we are now experiencing. The view exceeds what could have been imagined. The actions along the journey don't seam plausible to produce the outcome of where we are standing.
Our Grand Opening, of a church building this quickly, seems unfathomable... and yet its real. It truly is a special moment, that humbles us and forces us to look at what God can accomplish, move people towards, and still promise more.
We hope and are excited for you to be present for this special moment and stand in awe with us, together.
